In May 2024, Howies Hockey, in collaboration with 200x85, proudly hosted the inaugural Howies Hometown Cup in Howies’ home city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. This three-day tournament drew teams from all across North America to battle it out on the ice and become Howies Champions. The atmosphere was electric as players and fans filled the rinks, showcasing their skills and passion for the game.

Participants had the unique opportunity to visit Howies Hockey Headquarters. The tour included a special meet-and-greet with Howie himself, who loved hearing where players were from and how they were doing so far in the tournament. Seeing the players who perpetuate the heartbeat of our company experience how we operate was special for all the employees who work so hard year in and year out. This personal connection between the players and the team behind Howies Hockey created lasting memories and deepened the sense of community.

For the tournament, each rink was staffed with Howies employees who awarded prizes, posted videos on social media, and ensured every player had a terrific experience. A highlight for us was selecting the MVP from each division, then cutting the tape off their blade from the championship game—a trophy that will hang in Howies Headquarters for the next year. We are already so excited for next year to continue to grow this fantastic event. With our new headquarters being built, teams returning will be able to experience Howies in a completely different way than the year before.
