In September 2026, Howies Hockey partnered with 200x85 to host the 3rd annual Howies Hometown Cup in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The three-day tournament brought teams from across North America together for competitive hockey, high energy, and a strong sense of community. Players also had the chance to tour the new Howies Hockey Headquarters, play mini sticks at The Howies Hockey Mega Dome, meet Howie himself, and even spot Howie the Mascot. Connecting the athletes who fuel the game with the team behind the Howies created memorable experiences and reinforced the community that defines Howies Hockey.
Throughout the weekend, teams of all ages signed up to fill Howies HQ for a behind-the-scenes look at the place where it all happens. They walked the facility floor, got the full rundown of the Howies story, checked out our awesome breakroom, and watched the video that takes you all the way back to our early history. Hearing the Howies story firsthand and meeting the man behind the toothless face isn't something you forget.
That's right, Howie himself was there for it. He met every group that came through, shook hands, signed a few things, and talked hockey with anyone who wanted to. Add in the rest of the Howies staff hanging out, and players left HQ with a real feel for who's behind the brand. In all, it was a great place to be for players, parents, coaches, and really anyone who loves hockey!
What's better than getting a brand new TJ Twig at the Howies HQ? Getting to use your brand new twig at the newly opened Howies Mega Dome Mini Stick Arena. Located in the heart of the warehouse, tucked between the pallet racks and a few thousand rolls of tape, the Mega Dome is the only rink in the world with dasher boards made entirely out of Howies boxes. Center ice logo, blue lines, the whole setup.
And we didn't cut corners. Teams ran 3v3 and 4v4 with a real ref in stripes, a scoreboard, and a timekeeper making sure every game got played the right way. Parents packed in around the boards, the games got chippy in the best way, and the line to get on the ice never really went away. Safe to say the Mega Dome was a hit.
Howie the Mascot made appearances at HQ and rinks across GR, quickly becoming a fan favorite with his energy, photo ops, and fun moments with players from across North America. Throughout the tournament, Howies employees staffed each rink, awarded prizes, shared social content, and ensured every team had a great experience. Division MVPs were recognized with Howies Prize Packs, helping cap off a weekend full of competition, community, and lasting memories, if your team is interested in next year’s tournament, click the link below to learn more.
